Historic enclave

Located in the area with cultural and architectural resources, as it is the region of the Ribagorza, emblematic name in the history of the former Kingdom of Aragon, and still after so many centuries, the territory retains many traces of this rich past millennium.
Cave paintings, Paleolithic and Neolithic sites, Lombard Romanesque and medieval fortresses reflect the historical legacy of the region. Ribagorza is framed in a lovely setting in the heart of the Pyrenees, characterized by the beautiful valleys and montains.
Graus is the capital of the region of the Ribagorza. The village has got, between its streets and squares, a unique heritage bestowed in the 1975 of historic and artistic interest.
In the middle of the Aragonese Pyrenees, its location at the confluence of the rivers Esera and Isabena has made this city a crossroads and transit of people different and distant in time.
At only 200 metres is located the archaeological site of Labitolosa, a Roman city dating back to the late first century BC. The great discovery was the set of public buildings such as the Curia, which preserves the remains of inscriptions and thermal Baths. The Curia was the meeting of the Council of decurions, one of the best preserved buildings of the roman Hispania. These buildings belong to the time of the roman Flavian dynasty.
Next to the valley of Isabena which begins in Capella, welcomes us a medieval bridge of 8 spans that is one of the most sensational of the Altoaragón’s.
If we follow the river we can visit Laguarres and continue towards Lascuarre to contemplate the remains of its castle and medieval walls, the town and the Aragonese Gothic style church. We turn to the municipality of Monesma-Cajigar where in its small localities we can find remains of civil architecture as well as religious buildings such as the Romanesque church of Cajigar.
Roda de Isabena will fascinate you, there are no words to describe this place, you must visit it if you pass through this valley. The Massif Turbón is situated on a peak overlooking the Saw of Sis on one side and the other. It consists of the cathedral of St. Vincent Martyr in Romanesque style but with some later modifications and it was declared of cultural interest like the Joint Urban Main Square. The most striking is the crypt and the cloister.
The town of Ainsa was composed of a castle, much lower than at present and separated from the people and a walled enclosure formed by the streets and the churches of San Salvador (now disappeared) and Saint Mary which retains three doors of its design, dating from the eleventh of twelfth centuries. Later this was extended during the XIV and XV centuries and joined the Castle Square; several houses were built in the second part of the town, emerging a second walled enclosure. This site is maintained largely masked by the houses that were attached on its inner face. We can find several paintings on the walls, where there were no buildings, in different part of the town. We can also admire five of the seven gates that existed in the two enclosures.
As described above, we could list a large numbers of monuments and historic buildings, thanks to the cultural wealth of the area.

Water and snow

Thanks to a privileged situation, scarcely a few meters from the shore of the Reservoir of Barasona, we have the possibility of practising all kinds of water sports, of sailing sports as the windsurfing or light sailing, of engine sports, as the water skiing, boat riding, or also the practice of the canoeing.
A luxury, its proximity with the ski resorts of Cerler and Boi Taull, where we can enjoy all the activities that the mountain and its stations offer to us.

Sport of adventure

Due to the situation, in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, we can enjoy sports of mountain as climbing, trecking, speleology, mountain bike, mountain-climbing, abseiling, quads, bungee jumping, paragliding, horse riding, hang glider, climbing paths, etc. Its location in the confluence of the rivers Esera and Isábena facilitates the practice of sports of adventure as the rafting, hidrospeed, descent of canyons, canoeing, or the enjoyment of fishing.

Gastronomic route

The lovers of good food will find in the region of the Ribagorza a whole range of specialties that will satisfy the most demanding palate.
The area of Graus displays a wide gastronomic exponent based on the offer of its closer products like the truffle, the sausage typical of the area, and its great variety of mycological products. Such variety does that there are many restaurants with a diverse cooking style, from the more conservative to other more innovative.
